Earlier this week at the Participant Showcase, I realized that we are so blessed to observe and interact with so many talented teenagers! They sang, performed, danced and made jokes. What happened at the showcase was a sign that a great summer is ahead of us at BIMA. Yesterday in my Artist Beit Midrash participants thought about the roots of leadership and explored a passage from the Torah, which discussed the starting point of one of the most influential characters in Jewish history- Moses. Participants were asked to interpret this passage through movement or dance. Participants were so creative and motivated doing their exploratory process that eventually their performances reflected other stories about Moses the person, the leader, and the shepherd. Sometimes it’s hard to understand how two such 3-dimensional terms as Judaism and Arts could become a one common creative path but, as we’re beginning to discover, it’s possible!
