The last weeks of jazz were amazing. As everyone in the ensemble became closer friends, our music became better. We became more of a family and developed our own mini community. We knew about each other’s playing styles and as we became more familiar with each other, our music grew and greatly improved. We had so much fun learning our music by ear, and it was really rewarding to see ourselves improve and to see the people around us improve too. I think I can speak for all of us when I say that I am a totally different musician now compared to when BIMA started. Greg, our teacher, pushed us and helped us all to become better at what we do; both individually and as a member of an ensemble. By the end of the month, we were making some really awesome music, I am going to miss all of the people at BIMA so much, especially those in jazz.
